Well I wasn't deliberately trying to find this. I found evidence that there was some work being done with Hytale in December of 2014. It may have all the features we want and the modding capability Minecraft should've had long ago. Even a game like Hytale that looks incredibly promising, is being made by people with a well-known Minecraft server community, and has the backing of Riot (and thus big boy Tencent) isn't going to release and be the "Minecraft killer" we dream of. If Mojang hasn't killed Minecraft yet, they're not going to be able to. Mojang stands behind their reporting system that can ban you from your self-hosted servers in Minecraft Community developed game inspired by cube world. Libre gaming is the only excusable form of gaming I'm not associated with it, just a curious fan.

For example, in the web services I write using Actix, application. ECS makes the dream work here, but an Actor framework would work too. Embark is betting on Rust for their game dev projects. As for game development, Veloren is a pretty complex game, and it's written entirely in Rust. You can read about their success stories. Tons of big companies are using it: Amazon, Discord, Cloudflare, etc.

  • Rust tops StackOverflow Survey 2022 as the most loved language for the 7th year.
  • Thanks for the interview! Nice editing, clean video.Microsoft banned me from playing Minecraft until I provide personal infoĪnd … … Bam! Someone's aready done it. This drip-feed method of revealing the game is killing me lol. It seems beta is still a ways off, and while feedback is important, I'd rather just get out of the way and let them finish development. I wonder if we as a community should take this to heart and actually discuss the game less lol. Makes me very glad there isn't an official forum yet. One thing that stood out was "reading the response from the community can actually slow down development of the game". Unique prefabs" and players starting near the Temple of Elements was about the most I got out of it. Of course I appreciate them taking the time and I know they're very touchy about unwanted spoilers. Maybe I missed something that will be picked up on by others, but most of the responses felt like "Wait for a future blog post about it" or going over some of the general terrain of the past 2 months, stuff that's already been known. I was hoping for 1 or 2 "big spoilers" that they would be willing to drop for an interview, but I really didn't pick up on anything new that was revealed. I really got the sense of "I can't reveal anything". I feel bad for Noxy for being in that position in a way.
